He was married to Ida Marie Wissel Sept. 2, 1925, in Morris, Ind., and she preceded him in death June 24, 1987. He moved to Batesville at the age of two years and to the Westport area in 1931. He had resided at his current residence since 1955. He was a farmer and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in North Vernon, Ind., and the Knights of Columbus 1641 in North Vernon.He is survived by three sons, Paul E., and Robert L. Schumacher, both of Westport and Gerald E. Schumacher, Elizabethtown, Ind.; one daughter, Annabelle Starke, Westport; one sister, Levina Wilmerding, Cincinnati; one brother, Joseph Schumacker, Batesville; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Carrie Wintz and Philomine Schumacher and one brother, Edward Schumacher.The Rev.
