Brother of Clarice, Laura and Lloyd Broedel. Married Maxine Brown on Feb. 20, 1939. Father of Thomas, Robert, and Ralph. A graduate of Marietta High School and the College of Agriculture at Ohio State University, he farmed and raised Black Angus cattle in Reno, Ohio. (Was disqualified from serving in the military because of a leaky heart valve.) He was a dedicated member of the Reno Christian Church and served on the Marietta Twp. Board of Education where he was instrumental in getting a new grade school built in Reno. He was also clerk for the Marietta Twp. Board of Trustees. Died at age 67 in Cleveland Clinic from a staph infection following successful heart surgery to replace a heart valve.
