  OBITUARY:Robert Oswald Published Saturday, August 2, 2003 Robert Emmett Oswald Sr., 72, of Boonville died Friday, Aug. 1, 2003, in Boonville. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 4, at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with the Rev. Bob Duesdieker officiating. Burial will be at St. Peter and Paul Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday at Thacher Funeral Home and from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the church, with a wake at 7:30 p.m. Mr. Oswald was born July 6, 1931, in Boonville to Estil and Mary Garthoffner Oswald. On Nov. 25, 1952, he married Ida Yvonne Pepper in Leavenworth, Kan., and she preceded him in death. Mr. Oswald was a graduate of St. Peter and Paul Catholic School. He was a veteran of the Air Force. He was a farmer. Survivors include four sons, Robert Oswald Jr. of Ottawa, Kan., Daniel Oswald Sr. of Columbia and Randall Oswald and Gregory Oswald, both of Boonville; two daughters, Mary Skelton and Melissa Spence, both of Boonville; a sister, Jeanne Blanck of Kansas City; a brother, James Oswald of Blackwater; and 17 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Diana Oswald; a sister, Mary Lang; a brother, Estil Oswald, and a grandson, Jason Oswald. Memorials are suggested to St. Peter and Paul Catholic School.
