HEATH - A Mass of Christian Burial for Irene C. Riesbeck, 95, of Heath, will be held at St. Leonard Catholic Church, 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, March 18, 2009, with Rev. Michael Reis officiating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her six grandsons, Paul, Alan, Thaddeus, Jonathan, Donald, and Eric.
Mrs. Riesbeck, a 1931 graduate of St. Francis de Sales High School, died Saturday, March 14, 2009. She was born in Columbus, Ohio on January 10, 1914 to the late William Henry and Mary Ann (Verfers) Meier.
Irene was a charter member of St. Leonard Catholic Church where she was also a sacristan for many years. She retired from the Newark Air Force Base in 1981. She was proud of her home and pleased to care for her yard.
Irene is survived by her six children and their spouses, Therese Davidson of Granville, H. Raymond and Martha Riesbeck of Lancaster, Phyllis and Robert Davidson of Westerville, Thomas and Theresa Riesbeck of Nicholasville, KY, Rosemary and Henry A. Sellers of Van Buren, AR, Donald and Cynthia Riesbeck of Newark; 21 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; eight step great-grandchildren; one sister and brother-in-law, Bernadine and Andrew Kaeppner of Columbus; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Irene was preceded in death by her husband, Harry V. Riesbeck; her son-in-law, Paul Davidson; three brothers; and three sisters.
Friends and family may call from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M., Tuesday, March 17, 2009, at the Reed-Egan Funeral Home, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark.
