Everett E. Sanders, 78, Bloomington, died at 10:43 p.m. Sunday (April 9, 2006) at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington.
His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Beck Memorial Home, Bloomington. Burial will be in Park Hill Cemetery, Bloomington. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army.
He was born March 15, 1928, at Salisbury, to Edwin O. and Helen Cox Sanders. He married Rhuemma Roodhouse on Nov. 26, 1955, at Bloomington. She passed away in 1983. He married Marjorie E. Miller on Nov. 26, 1983, in Bloomington. She survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Anita (Steven) Moncelle, Gridley, and Debby (John) Cooper, Springfield; brothers and sisters, Pearl (Jim) Flickinger, Columbia, Mo.; Dorothy (Ray) Hoard, Springfield; Edwin (Reta) Sanders, Normal; Milton (Dorothy) Sanders, Columbia, Mo.; Ruth (Donald) Bigger, Springfield, Mo.; Deloris (Wayne) Zimmerman, Mackinaw; Sandra Braden, Bloomington; Sharon (Ron) Johnson, Malabar, Fla.; Marilyn (Charles) Boyd, Bloomington; and Paul (Roberta) Sanders, Columbia, Mo.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
His parents and one daughter preceded him in death.
He was a veteran and had worked for GM&O Railroad for 36 and a half years and Amtrak for two years. He belonged to the Brotherhood of Railway and Steamship Clerks Freight Handlers, Express and Station Employees.
He was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening, traveling and being with people. He was a loving husband, brother and friend and will be missed dearly.
