JOHN SCHAFER IS SUMMONED
CALDWELL, O. -- John Schafer, 87, retired farmer of Fulda community, died
Saturday night at the home of his daughter, Mrs. George Failing [sic: Sailing] of near
Middleburg following a week's illness. He was the son of the late Adam and Elizabeth
Schafer.
Surviving are four sons, Leo Schafer of Malvern, Christian of Akron, Francis of
Malvern and Roy Schafer of the home; one daughter, Mrs. Emma Failing (sic Saling),
at whose home he died; two brothers, Joseph Schafer of Dudley, O.., and Leonard
Schafer of Zanesville; also two sisters, Mrs. Rachel Way of Cleveland and Mrs. Caroline
Lorr [sic: Lorey] of Marietta.
The body will be removed today from the Estadt funeral home in Caldwell to the
Failing home. Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock at St. Mary's
Catholic Church in Fulda, with Rev. Fr. E. J. Mattes officiating. Burial will be in the
church cemetery in charge of the Estadt funeral home.
