Birth: Aug. 29, 1867 Odes'ka, Ukraine Death: Aug. 3, 1939 McIntosh County North Dakota, USA Jakob BENDER born 29 August 1867 in Marienberg, Glueckstal, Odessa, South Russia was the son of Jacob BENDER and Katharina STEINWAND. Jakob married Katharina RAU on the 29th of January 1891 in Neudorf, Glueckstal, Odessa, South Russia. This union was blessed with no less than 8 children. Jakob at the age of 33 with his wife Katharina and their children; Friedrich, Philip and Jacob, immigrated to America via the port of Antwerp, Belgium on 6th of October 1900 aboard the SS "Kensington", and arrived at Ellis Island, New York on the 17th of October 1900. Their final destination recorded as Armour, Douglas County, South Dakota to join his Stepfather, Georg (Bender) Hochhalter.
