Bio: Ralph F. Miller, 85, Mandan, went to rest for eternity with our Savior Jesus, April 19, 2003. At the time of his death he was surrounded by his wife and children. He passed very peacefully from this world to paradise. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Christ the King Catholic Church, Mandan, with the Rev. Albert Leary officiating. Burial will be at Mandan Union Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan, where a Catholic Daughters and Christian Mothers rosary will be said at 4 p.m. A vigil service will be held at 6:30 p.m. today at Christ the King Catholic Church, in the Agnes Larkin Family Parish Life Center. Visitation will continue on Wednesday in the Agnes Larkin Family Parish Life Center prior to the service. Ralph was born June 6, 1917, in Crown Butte, the son of Florian and Eva (Daub) Miller. He married Irene Hoffman on Oct. 22, 1945, at St. Martin's Church in Center. They farmed in the Crown Butte area for 12 years, then moved south of St. Anthony until they retired, and moved to Mandan in 1983. Ralph has resided at a Bismarck nursing home since August 2002. Some of Ralph's enjoyments in life were spending time with his grandchildren and playing cards. Ralph had laughs with his children and his grandchildren, playing little games like kuggula. He was a humble man of high integrity; "Don't swear, don't lie, be honest, be on time." He is survived by his dear wife and faithful partner, Irene, Mandan; his 12 daughters, Lucy (Jerry) Miller, Lenora (Ed) Ziniel, Marcia (Jesse) Gifford, Doreen (Andrew) Frohlich and Bonita (Marcus) Vogel, all of Mandan, Linda (Dale) Urlacher and Eileen (Steve) Thompson, all of Aberdeen, S.D., LaDonna (Mark) Pryor, Glendive, Mont., Elaine (Ken) Cermak, Rapid City, S.D., Mary (Peter) Running, Spearfish, S.D., and Denise (Rodney) Nelson and Barb (Doug) Haux, all of Bismarck; his six sons, Harvey (Dee), Harlen, and Dean (Sheri), all of Mandan, David (Nancy), Beulah, Daniel (Kelly), Glenwood, Minn., and Robert (Bonnie), Wilton; his 49 grandchildren; and his six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Dennis; one grandson, Reed Ziniel; two sisters, Rose Sturn and Katherine Taghon; and two brothers, Peter and John.
