Helen Catherine Goebel (1915-2003) EDGERTON - Helen Catherine Goebel, 87, of Edgerton, died early Friday, Feb. 7, 2003, at Sutter Roseville Medical Center in Roseville, Calif., where she was a patient. Born Aug. 9, 1915, in Newville, Ind., to Margaret (Miller) and Eugene DeLucenay, she married Nial L. Goebel on Oct. 6, 1936, in Waterloo, Ind., and he preceded her in death in 1995. A homemaker, she formerly worked at Syncro and the Edgerton Canning Factory and was the manager of Houk Locker & Restaurant. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Edgerton and the church's Rosary Altar Society. Surviving are four daughters, Beverly Curry of Greentown, Ind., Mrs. Paul (Judith) Brown of Lincoln, Calif., Mrs. Chuck (Jeanette) Orr of Jackson, Mich., and Dianna M. Goebel of Bryan; 16 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; five brothers, Harold (and wife, Hazel) DeLucenay of Spokane, Wash., Herman (Wanda) and Earl (Phyllis) DeLucenay, both of Ashley, Ind., Edward (Phyllis) DeLucenay of New Haven, Ind., and Eugene (Nancy) DeLucenay of Pleasant Lake, Ind.; and a sister-in-law, Betty DeLucenay of Garrett, Ind. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Francis Eugene Goebel, and a brother, Richard DeLucenay. Visitation will be held Friday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. with a recitation of the rosary at 8 p.m. in the Krill Funeral Home, Edgerton. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Edgerton with Fr. Thomas Oedy to officiate. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
