Note: From the Jasper Herald: "Mrs. August Wehr Of St. Anthony Taken By Death - Mrs. Clara Wehr, 57, wife of August Wehr, died at her home three miles north of St. Anthony at 1 A.M. Monday. Last Saturday morning she suffered the eighth of a series of paralytic strokes which began several years ago. She had been bedfast as a result of paralysis for more than two years. Surviving besides the husband are two daughters, Mrs. Hubert Bonifer of St. Anthony and Mrs. Sylvester Bockelman of Jasper; two half-brothers, Joseph and John Alles of St. Anthony; three half-sisters, Mrs. Robert Wilson of St. Anthony, Mrs. Robert Vonderheide of Jasper and Miss Mayme Alles of Indianapolis; and ten grandchildren. Mrs. Wehr was born on March 27,1886 (error, this is the date of August's birth four years earlier), on a farm near Celestine, the daughter of Fred and Mary Bates Alles. Following her marriage to August Wehr on May 1, 1906, the couple moved onto the farm near St. Anthony where she had lived since. Funeral services were held in St. Anthony church at nine o'clock Wednesday morning followed by interment in the church cemetery."
