He married Cecilia Gales on 22 Nov 1932 in St. Joseph, Iowa. They were the parents of Mary Ann and Charles. Decc 26, 1991 - Funeral service for former Lu Verne resident, Henry Loerwald, 84, of Marshalltown was held Saturday, Dec. 21 at 10 a.m. in St. Henry's Catholic Church. Father Thomas Braak officiated. Interment was in St. Joseph's Catholic Church Cemetery, St. Joe at 2 p.m. Saturday. Estel-Perrtn-Avey Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Mr. Loerwald was born on July 30, 1907 in Lindsey, TX, the son of Charles and Magdalena Kempf Loerwald. He received his education at Lindsey, TX. On November 19, 1932, he married Cecelia Gales at St. Joe. They farmed near Lu Verne where Henry was active as mayor and councilman. He was also a member of the Lu Verne Fire Department for 48 years. Mr. Loerwald died Dec. 18 at Marshalltown Manor where he lived for two years. Survivors include a son, C.J. Loerwald of LeGrand and a daughter, Mary Ann, Mrs. Don Franks, of Carson, CA; seven grandchildren; a great-grandson; and a sister, Elizabeth Walterscheid of Hereford,. TX. Preceding him in death were his wife, Cecelia, Iin April 1937 and a brother and two sisters.
