  [S927] Obituary. MARIAH HILL-- Hubert H. Dilger, 83, died at 5:30 pm. Wednesday, Dec. 16, 1987, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Huntingburg. A retired farmer he was born Dec. 23, 1903 at Mariah Hill, the son of the late Edward and Mary (Schum) Dilger. He was united in marriage Oct. 15, 1935 to the former Philomena Daunhauer, who survives. He was a member of the Young Men's Institute of Mariah Hill and was preceded in death by a brother, Leonard. Surviving besides his wife of 52 years, Philomena, are eight sons, Alvin of Tell City, William of Huntingburg, James of Ferdinand, Herbert of Dale, Earl of Lake City, Fla., and Dennis, Leon and Larry, all of Mariah Hill; three daughters, Emogene Brames of St. Henry, and Marie and Sandy Dilger of Mariah Hill; two brothers, Richard of Dale, and Carl of Mariah Hill; two sisters, Elnora Wessel of Dale and Amelia Hassfurther of Ferdinand; and 25 grandchildren. Services were held Saturday, Dec. 19, at 10 am. At Mary Help of Christians Church in Mariah Hill, with burial in the church cemetery. Becher Funeral Home at Ferdinand was in charge of arrangements.
