Freedom Ave., died at Alliance City Hospital at 12:01 today following a lingering illness. Mr. Bissler was the former owner of the E. J. Bissler Co. and had been a plumber and pipefitter for 40 years. He was born in Alliance March 1, 1913 to Edward J. and Josephine Gutfleisch Bissler and had lived in this area all his life. A naval veteran of World War II, Mr. Bissler was a life member of Disabled American Veterans Chapter 50 and a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Plumber and Pipefitters Union 94, Knights of Columbus (Third Degree), American Legion Post 166 and the Midwest Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society. Surviving are his wife, Dorotha E. (Barber); a daughter, Mrs. Clyde (Mary Jo) Cowgill of Alliance; a son, Edward C. of Alliance; a brother, Robert L. of Alliance; and six grandchildren.
