Dobbs, 86, of Northgate Drive died at 11:20 a.m. Sunday, March 9, 2003, at Columbus Health and Rehabilitation Center. Mrs. Dobbs was a former employee of Columbus Process and was a member of Assembly of God on 10th Street. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Barkes, Inlow & Weaver Funeral Home on Washington Street with the Revs. Charles and Carolyn Gillihan officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today and from noon until service time Wednesday. Entombment will be at Garland Brook Mausoleum. Memorials may be made to the Indiana School for the Blind. Born in Brown County April 28, 1916, Mrs. Dobbs was the daughter of Peter Ferrel and Cora Burkhart Hendershot. She married Charles Lester Dobbs Dec. 25, 1932. Survivors include a son, Charles "Chuck" Dobbs of Columbus; a daughter, Juanita Slaughter of Greenfield; brothers, Ferrel Hendershot Jr. of New Castle, and Hershel and Denzil Hendershot, both of Brown County; sisters, Nadean West of Brown County and Beulah Dowden of Columbus; six grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on Aug. 18, 2002; two sisters; and four brothers.
