  [S927] Obituary. John Konrad Location: Parkston, SD Funeral Home: KOEHN BROS FUNERAL HOME Parkston - John Konrad, 58, died Saturday, November 13 at Avera St. Benedict Hospital in Parkston. Funeral service will be Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at 10:30 am at Faith Lutheran Church in Parkston with burial following in the Parkston Protestant Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 16 from 5 to 7 pm with a 7:00 pm prayer service at Faith Lutheran Church in Parkston. Koehn Bros. Funeral Home in Parkston is in charge of arrangements. John Konrad was born February 25, 1952 to Willard and Frances (Stoebner) Konrad in Parkston, SD. He graduated from Parkston High School. He married Jan Carey on December 5, 1969. The couple made their home on a farm east of Parkston where John farmed and enjoyed working with horses and other livestock. He drove milk truck, worked for Parkston Independent Fertilizer and was currently a salesman for J & R Feed. John enjoyed grilling for special occasions and took great pride in serving his customers, but he loved his family above all else. Grandpa John always had treats in his pocket and tickles at his fingertips. He was a patient and loving dad and husband who worked hard his entire life to give his family the very best. He was a friend to all who met him and enjoyed sharing every detail about his day. He was "at home" in the barn, on his cell phone and on the bleachers of his grandchildren's school events. He entered his eternal home on Saturday, November 13, 2010 at the age of 58. Those left to treasure his memory are his wife, Jan of Parkston; mother, Frances of Parkston; 3 sons: Lance and wife, Lynette and their children Jamie and Lane of Parkston; Thad and wife, DeeAnn and their children Kennedy, Rylan and Brenner of Tea; and Josh and wife, Kim and their daughter Allison of Watertown; 4 brothers and their families: Gary and wife, Nancy of Mitchell; Dave and wife, Pat of Parkston; Alan and wife, Terry of Parkston; and Steve and wife, Nancy of Parkston; his grandmother, Helma Konrad of Tripp; his in-laws, Dale and Doris Carey of Parkston.
