Earlier you mentioned that Josephine Judd was not a Swiss name and you were correct. Looking through old papers, I discovered Josephine's name was actually spelled JUD. This is what I discovered about Jud:JUD1. Swiss German and Slovenian: ethnic nickname meaning "Jew"2. English: variant spelling of Judd.This makes a lot more sense.
