Dorothy R. Ebey
Dorothy R. Ebey, age 78, of Magnolia, formerly of Canton, died Wednesday, May 5, 2004 at her home surrounded by family members. She was born February 1, 1926, in Canton, to Frank and Emma Grosschmidt. She married Glenn A. Ebey on May 10, 1947 at St. Paul Catholic Church in Canton. She worked as a bookkeeper at Ziegler Tire for over twenty years, retiring in 1989. She recently worked at the National Shrine of St. Dymphna, in Massillon, where she was employed as a bookkeeper and secretary. She was an active member of All Saints Parish, Canton, where she was a Lector, Eucharistic Minister, CCD teacher, member of the Altar & Rosary Society, and worked on the Christmas Giving tree. Dorothy was a cherished wife, loving mother, and kind friend to many people. She was an inspiration to all of us and loved by all who knew her. ?For God loved the world so much that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him may not die but have eternal life.? (John 3:16) Dorothy believed, and we can be certain that she is now enjoying eternal life with God. Survivors include her husband of 57 years; her sister, Anne Frank of Louisville; four daughters, Mary Ann (Richard) Parrott, of Canton, Patricia (Neal) Fisher of West Salem, Emily (Greg) Huber of Marshfield, WI, Cathy (William) Haley of Pace, FL; three sons, Glen (Susan) of Marengo, IL, Paul (Debby) of Canton, James (Karen) of Bolingbrook, IL; 15 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; three children, Joseph, Theresa, and Jean (Tom) Brosnahan, Marshfield, WI; and two grandchildren, Bridget & Emily Brosnahan, Marshfield, WI. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 8th, at All Saints Catholic Church, 1386 Henry Ave. SW, Canton, OH 44706. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either All Saints Church Bell Restoration Fund or Aultman Hospice Program. Welch-Sekeres-Lewis Funeral Home of Canton is in charge of arrangements. There will be no calling hours. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Canton
