Larry L. Strong
Age 70, of Magnolia, passed away Monday morning in Aultman Hospital. He was born in Canton, a son of the late Lawrence and Hattie Kitzmiller Strong, and had been a Magnolia resident seven years. Larry was a 1957 graduate of Canton South High School, and retired in 2001 from Superior Machine Co., after 45 years service, where he was a machinist and tool & die maker. He was a long time member of the Performance Ford Club of America, and has owned a 1963 1/2 Ford Galaxie XL for 31 years, which is in original mint condition.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Juanita Rae and a grandson, Andrew Finley. Survived by his wife, Virginia A. (Morrow) Strong; two daughters and a son-in-law, Juanita Finley, of Canton, and Janet and Vince Belovich, of South Charleston, Ohio; one son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Beth Strong, of North Canton; one sister and brother-in-law, Diana 'Doots' and David Orr, of Massillon; his mother-in-law, Alice Plaskett, of Canton; and five grandchildren, Benjamin and Ryan Finley, Curtis Strong, and Emily and Michael Belovich.
Services will be conducted Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home with Mark Black officiating. Interment in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday 11 a.m.-1 p.m. before the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Larry's memory may be made to the Palliative Care Unit of Aultman Hospital, 2600 6th St. SW, Canton, OH 44710, or Cross Eyed Missions, PO Box 688, Waynesburg, OH 44688.
