Obituary Jeanne Daschbach Miller Of San Francisco died at her home on October 9, with her children by her side. She succumbed to complications from brain cancer. Born to Howard and Florence Daschbach in Pittsburgh, PA, August 5 1929, the family moved west to Salt Lake City, eventually settling in San Francisco in 1947. She attended City College of San Francisco and graduated from San Francisco College for Women (later Lone Mountain College) in 1952, and soon went to work as a librarian for the City of San Francisco. It was while working in the San Francisco Public Library that Jeanne met her husband of 52 years, Tom Miller. She and Tom married in 1954 and raised six children-Jeanne proudly attended hundreds of their sports games and other school events. Jeanne was active in St. Brendan grammar school and Riordan high school parents' associations. When her kids grew older, she returned to librarian work at St. Brendan's school, which she retired from after 17 years. Jeanne spent much of her free time with family and kept in close contact with lifelong Pittsburgh, PA friends, friends and colleagues in the Bay Area, and "The Turtles" social club. She especially adored her grandchildren, attending their sports and school events, too. Jeanne loved to travel and took trips to more than 15 countries around the world. She often visited her native Pittsburgh for reunions with childhood friends. In between, she followed her other passions: gardening, making family photo albums, watching baseball (the Giants and her beloved Pirates), completing March Madness and to brackets, vacationing in Lake Tahoe, and indulging in coffee ice cream. Jeanne is preceded in death by her husband Tom and her brothers James, Howard and Robert. She is survived by her children Tom Jr. (Joan), Jim (Marla), Bob (Karen), Dave, Steve (Maureen), and Maryann (Erik), and 11(soon to be 12) grandchildren and numerous beloved nieces and nephews. A rosary will be held Wednesday, October 15 at 7 p.m. at St. Brendan Church (29 Rockaway Ave., San Francisco) and a celebration of life Thursday, October 16 at 11 a.m. at St. Brendan Church (29 Rockaway Ave., San Francisco).
