James R. Voellinger
James R. Voellinger, 81, of Belleville, IL, born December 31, 1924, in Belleville, IL, died Monday, June 26, 2006, at his residence. Mr. Voellinger was a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and of Northwestern University. He was a member of St. Augustine of Canterbury Catholic Church, Belleville, IL. Mr. Voellinger was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran.He was preceded in death by his parents, John M. and Christine E., nee Ehrstein, Voellinger; and a brother, Robert M. (Delores) Voellinger. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Helen R., nee Heiligenstein, Voellinger, whom he married April 15, 1950; three daughters, Constance P. Merrell of Belleville, IL, Linda D. Roberts of Fulton, NY, and Mary F. (Robert) Logue of Goodyear, AZ; four grandchildren, Keith and Curtis Roberts and Robert and Laura Logue; and nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 30, 2006, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL. A prayer service will be held at 4 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.Funeral procession will leave at 9:35 a.m. Saturday, July 1, 2006, from George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL, for a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Augustine of Canterbury Catholic Church, Belleville, IL, with the Rev. Andrew Knopik officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Freeburg, IL.
