Murphy, 44, of 1008 Linden Dr., formerly of Lima, died 6:30 a.m. Thursday in Van Wert County Hospital shortly after being admitted following a heart attack at his home. Born July 28, 1925, in Lima, he was the son of William S. and Alice Custy Murphy. He married Trella Redick Sept. 17, 1955, and she survives. Also surviving are a son, David, at home; two sisters, Mrs. John (Alice) Lane of 67 Sherwood Ct., Lima, and Mrs. Robert (Betty) Clancy of 2951 Hanover Dr., Lima; seven brothers, Louis of 417 Lincoln, William J. of 2104 Virginia, Robert of 2930 Koop Rd., Richard of 2125 N. Metcalf, Charles C. of 2957 Hanover Dr., all of Lima, and Leonard and Donald, both of Fort Wayne. Mr. Murphy was president of National Investment Corp., Van Wert, and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, American Legion, Elks Lodge, Rotary Club, Willow Bend Golf Club. He graduated from Lima St. John's High School, received his degree in pharmacy from Ohio Northern University, Ada, and served in the Marines in the South Pacific in 1945. Requiem High Mass will be offered 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Mary's Church by Rev. Frederick Hug. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery. Friends may call at Alspach Funeral Home, where Elks memorial services will be 7:30 tonight and the Rosary will be recited 8:30 tonight.
