Peter Koenig Birth: Jan. 7, 1891 Manitowoc County Wisconsin, USA Death: Dec. 12, 1957 Saint Nazianz Manitowoc County Wisconsin, USA Sheboygan Press Friday Dec. 13, 1957 Peter Koenig, 66, retired Town of Eaton, Manitowoc County, farmer, died of a sudden heart attack early Thursday evening at his home in St. Nazianz. Mr. and Mrs. Koenig had been living in St. Nazianz since his retirement from farming 11 years ago.A son of the late Joseph and Margaret Gelling Koenig, he was born on his parents' Town of Eaton farm, Jan. 7 1891. He attended St. Gregory's Catholic School in St. Nazianz and married the former Emily Herbst of Port Washington, Nov. 11, 1925, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in that city. After marriage the cople operated the Koenig homstead farm two miles west of St. Nazianz until retirement.He was a member of the Holy Name Society and Third Order of St. Francis of St.Gregory's Parish. Surviving are his wife and six sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Orth of St. Wendel, Mrs.August Eickhoff, Mrs. Barney Inkmann, Mrs. Fred Meyer and Mrs. John Schema of Sheboygan and Mrs. Henry Holzer of Kiel Services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday at St. Gregory's Church, St. Nazianz,following brief 8:45 family rites at the Meiselwitz Funeral Home in Kiel.Celebrant of the requiem mass will be the Rev. Dennis Cooney, pastor. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home in Kiel after 7 p.m. Saturday. The rosary will be recited there both Saturday and Sunday evenings at 8.
