Charles A. Silliman, 87, of 1420 Dillwood Dr., died at 8 p.m. yesterday at General Hospital from complications following serious injuries received when he was struck Tuesday afternoon by a hit-and-run driver, according to Deputy Coroner Lloyd Roemele. Silliman was struck while walking in the 1500 block of Crums Lane, according to Louisville police. There have been no arrests in the case. Silliman had retired after working 55 years as a bricklayer. He was a member of Shawnee Post 3204 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survivors include four sons, Paul J. Silliman, of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and John E., Robert K., and Charles G. Silliman; four daughters, Mrs. Marie K. Carrico of North Vernon, Ind., Mrs. Patricia Ann Deddens, Mrs. Marilyn Rose Badgett and Mrs. Jean Frances Bodenbender; 29 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. The funeral will be Friday at St. Helen's Church, 4005 Dixie Highway with burial in Calvary Cemetery. The body will be at Ratterman's, 2114 W. Market St., after 4 p.m. Thursday.
