WELLSBURG, W.Va. ? Helen Louise Holman Aftanas, 77, of Leon Addition, Wellsburg died May 7, 2006, in Trinity Medical Center West in Steubenville, Ohio. She was born May 4, 1929, in Washington Courthouse, Ohio, daughter of the late Ronald Allen and Freda Isabella Yoho Holman. Helen worked for WestVaco in Wellsburg. She was a member of the Follansbee Episcopal Church and the Wellsburg Women of the Moose Lodge. She is survived by her husband, Frank Aftanas, whom she married Sept. 25, 1959; one son, Franklin M. Aftanas Jr. and wife Debra of Wellsburg; one daughter, Gloria Jean Campbell and her husband Charlie of Avella, Pa.; one brother, Russell R. Holman of Weirton; one sister, Caroline B. McHenry of Chester, S.C.; two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 10, from 2-6 p.m. at Reasner Funeral Home, 1515 Charles St., Wellsburg. Services and burial will be private.
