Helen Jane Russell, 73, of 201 Cherry Street, Woodsfield, Ohio, died Wednesday, May 9, 2007 at her residence.
She was born at Princess Anne, Maryland on Sept. 7, 1933 a daughter of the late Walter Francis and Mavah White Larmore Powell.
She was a retired nurse?s aide; a member of the Woodsfield Christian Church, Woodsfield, Ohio and a member of the Women?s Bowling League in Woodsfield, Ohio and Pocnoke, Maryland.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Douglas Bryan Powell and one sister, Frances Mae Pusey.
Surviving are her husband, Junior Lee Russell whom she married on Nov. 27, 1953; six daughters, Kate (John) Mahoney of Akron, Ohio, Betty (Larry) Schaub of Lewisville, Ohio, Linda (Rex) McConnell of Lower Salem, Ohio and Janet Russell of Woodsfield, Ohio; two sons, Walter (Linda) Russell of Burlington, Iowa and Richard (Kathy) Russell of Woodsfield, Ohio; one brother, Walter James Powell of Princess Anne, Maryland; 26 grandchildren; 17 great-grand- children.
Helen was a foster mother to Joey, Sissy and Penny and an ?adopted? mother to countless children and grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Watters Funeral Home, 37501 State Route 78 West, Woodsfield, Ohio from 2 to 9 p.m., Friday, May 11, 2007 where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, May 12, 2007 with Pastor Herb Alexander officiating.
Burial will follow in the Oaklawn Cemetery, Woodsfield, Ohio.
