Burkhard, 54, 55867 Northview Lane, Quaker City, died Monday, February 23, 1987 in University Hospital, Columbus. Born July 26, 1932 in Monroe County, he was a son of the late Herman and Delores Burkhart. He was a member of St. Mary?s Catholic Church at Temperanceville and was a mine foreman for Quinn Development. One brother, Robert, preceded him in death. Surviving are his wife, Melba; two step-sons, Steven Gallagher of Batesville and Kenneth of Byesville; two step-daughters, Joy Gallagher of Cambridge and Lisa Hannum of Carrolltown, Pa.; five brothers, Charles and William, both of Temperanceville, Richard, Herman A. and Gene, all of Quaker City route; one sister, Bertha Hossman of Malaga; and five step-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Campbell-Plumly Funeral Home today, February 25, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Rosary devotions will be said at the funeral home this evening at 7:30. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary?s Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Thursday. Burial will be made in St. Mary?s Cemetery.
