Evelyn Uthe, 94, of Williams, Iowa, died Friday, August 19, 2005, at the Heritage Care Center in Iowa Falls, Iowa. Mass of the Resurrection was held Tuesday at St. Mary?s Catholic Church in Williams with burial in St. Mary?s Cemetery. Sietsema Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Uthe was survived by a daughter, Pauline Tibbs of Williams, Ia.; a daughter-in-law, Wilma Kobliska of Dumont, Ia.; 20 grandchildren, Steve Tibbs of Webster City, Ia., Ramona Kraft and husband Greg of Goldfield, Ia., Lucy Riggins and husband John of Des Moines, Ia., Dave Tibbs and wife Carol of Summerville, S.C., Jack Tibbs and wife Lori of Cedar Rapids, Ia., Allen Tibbs and wife Jackie of Alden, Ia., Linda Asmussen and husband Patrick of Bondurant, Ia., Andy Tibbs and wife Amy of Earlham, Ia., Luke Tibbs and wife Lisa of Hampton, Ia., Janice Williams and husband Tony of Rapid City, S.Dak., Jeanette Lunstrum and husband Terry of Castroville, Texas, Mark Uthe of Dumont, Ia., Charlene Clark and husband Mike of Clarksville, Ia., Chris Uthe and wife Roni Sue of Dumont, Ia., Constance Wagner and husband Rob of North Liberty, Ia., Rosanne Van Dyke and husband Steve of Dumont, Ia., John Uthe and wife Kathleen of Latimer, Ia., Joan Miller and husband Paul of Sioux Falls, S.Dak, Mary Leisinger and husband Paul of Waverly, Ia., and Frank Uthe and wife Marsha of Alden, Ia.; 25 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; two step-great-granddaughters; five step-great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Rose Helland of Story City, Ia., and Cathern Davis of Des Moines, Ia. Evelyn Uthe, age 94, of Williams, died on Friday, Aug. 19, 2005 at the Heritage Care Center in Iowa Falls. Mass of the Resurrection was held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 23 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Williams with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation was from 4 - 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 22 at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Williams with the family present from 5 - 7 p.m. There was a 7:00 p.m. scripture service.
Evelyn Clara Baldus was born on April 28, 1911 in Story City, the daughter of John and Rosa (Leininger) Baldus. She attended Story County School. On Jan. 24, 1933 Evelyn was united in marriage with Fred Carl Uthe at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Gilbert, Iowa. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Williams, St. Mary's Guild and ACCW, she also was a 4-H leader for 14 years.
