Ritzville Journal Times October 21, 1954 Funeral services for Mrs. Rose B. Seidl, 85, who came to Adams county as a young bride 66 years ago, were scheduled for this Thursday in St. Agnes Catholic church with Fr. C. M. Depiere officiating. Mrs. Seidl, the mother of Mrs. B. E. Sielaff of Ritzville, died Monday night. The longtime Adams county resident was born May 31, 1869 at Bloomer, Wisconsin. She was married to George Seidl on June 10, 1888 and the young couple came to Adams County to homestead land which is now part of the Joel German farm. Mrs. Seidl's husband died in 1905 but she continued to operate their farm until 1911, when the family moved to Ritzville. Mrs. Seidl lived here until 1950, when she moved to Spokane, returning to Ritzville two years later to live with her daughter and son-in-law. Four other children survive Mrs. Seidl; Mrs. R. C. Gillis of Washtucna, Mrs. W. H. Schoo of Washtucna, Mrs. B. E. Cooper of Portland Oregon, Mrs. W. H. Schoonover of Odessa and Edward Seidl of Ayer, Mass. Also surviving are four sisters, Mrs. Frank Swartz and Mrs. T. M Tighe, both of Seattle, Mrs. Carrie Weiner of Columbus, Wisconsin and Mrs. John Radke of Rice Lake, Wisconsin; 12 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
