    Leona Wiegmann
    NEW BADEN ? Leona C. Wiegmann, 77, of New Baden died Friday Sept. 3, 2004, at Clinton Manor in New Baden.
    She was born Sept. 25, 1926, in Bartelso, daughter of Edward and Margaret (Budde) Trame. On Oct. 22, 1947, she married Edward J. Wiegmann in Beckemeyer and he died Feb. 20, 2004.
    Survivors include a son, Daniel Wiegmann and wife Janice of New Baden; five daughters, Geralyn Singler and husband Richard of Carlyle, Marcia Becker and husband James of Breese, Jean Becker and husband Terry of Carlyle, Linda Henss and husband Arnold of Trenton, and Lori Breiner and husband Daniel of Damiansville; two brothers, Henry Trame and wife Lucille of Beckemeyer and Edwin Trame and wife Loretta of Breese; a sister, Agnes Huelsmann of New Baden; 19 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
    Other survivors include brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Viola Trame of Breese, Clem Horstmann of Beckemeyer, Pauline Lohman of New Baden, Estella and Norbert Hollenkamp of Aviston, Marie and Virgil Hollenkamp of New Baden, Elsie Wiegmann of Trenton and Eleanor Wiegman of Carlyle.
    She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one infant son, Joseph Wiegmann; a brother, Alphonse Trame; a sister, Helen Horstmann; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Joseph Huelsmann, Alphonse Wiegman, Raymond and Frances Wiegmann, William Wiegmann, Hubert Wiegmann and Arthur Lohman.
    Mrs. Wiegmann was a homemaker and she enjoyed quilting and gardening. She was a member of St. George Parish and Ladies Sodality and the New Baden Senior Citizens.
    Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. George Church in New Baden with the Rev. Donald Blaes officiating. Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery in New Baden.
    Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 8 to 10 a.m. Monday at Hempen Funeral Home in New Baden. The Senior Citizens will visit at 5 p.m. Sunday and they will be a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
    Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or to the Mater Dei Building Fund. They will be received at the funeral home.

He is survived by two brothers, Vincent Billhartz of New Baden, and Denis (Dorothy Salustro) Billhartz of New Baden; seven sisters, Elizabeth Haas of Mascoutah, Mary Becherer and husband Norman of Mascoutah, Margaret Reinhardt and husband Virgil of Belleville, Catherine Lanter of Mascoutah, Veronica Wright and husband Harold of Belleville, Agnes Buechler and husband Clinton of Swansea, and Mary Ann Krohne and husband James of Okawville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, Rich Haas and George Lanter and a nephew, Billy Buechler. Mr. Billhartz was retired from Monsanto in Sauget, Ill. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving during WWII in the Pacific Theatre. He was a member of St. Albert the Great Church in Fairview Heights and the American Legion Post 321 in New Baden. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 2, 2006 at St. George Church in New Baden with Msgr. Donald Eichenseer officiating.
